California Disability Law Attorney
It is an unfortunate reality that the majority of applications for Social Security Disability benefits are initially denied. If you filed a claim for benefits because you cannot work, whether due to injury or disability, and it was denied, you want to talk with a lawyer who has a full understanding of the Social Security system, as well as the laws and procedures governing payment of benefits.
At the Law Offices of Gary J. Hill, we have protected the rights of people throughout the Central Valley for more than 30 years, including people seeking to appeal the denial of a disability claim. We have a professional and experienced support staff as well, and we will always work diligently to ensure a successful outcome in your case.
Helping You Appeal a Denied Disability Claim
When your disability claim has been denied, your first avenue of appeal is to request a reconsideration of the determination. We generally recommend that our clients prepare and file their own reconsideration, as the chance of changing the Social Security Administration's ruling at that stage of the process is not significantly affected by whether or not you are represented by counsel.
As a general rule, we do not prepare the initial application for Social Security Disability benefits, as doing so tends to slow down the process. You can work directly with someone at the Social Security office, or you can file your claim online. Nonetheless, we believe it is important to talk with us before you file your claim, so we can give you some pointers on how to improve your chances of success and so we will be familiar with your case if your claim is initially denied.
If your claim is denied after your request for reconsideration, we will get involved and will aggressively protect your interests.
